LAURA WAKEHAM

Ultimately, my practice explores landscape painting in a contemporary context. Living and working in Cornwall, I am constantly inspired by the sea and rugged Cornish coastline. I am captivated by the intricacies of the landscape; the texture of rocks, the variety of brickwork on buildings and details on boats. Through the control that I have when painting the landscape I am able to find a space of calm and order amidst chaos. My paintings are a reflection of how I view the world as I strive to make sense of what is going on around me.
