Gwithian Shoreline
This aerial view of Gwithian Beach is a stark contrast to the heavy swells I have painted recently of the North Coast of Cornwall. There was very little swell the day I took the reference shot for the piece, just a gentle, rolling wave lapping at the sandy shoreline. The white water was creating a beautiful foam line on the sand, I have tried to capture this and the tranquility of the beach in this piece.
I have used sea salt and sand in the acrylic paint to build the depth in the sandy shoreline and fine poska pen to add the fine detail in the sea foam.
