Portscatho Shoreline

Portscatho Shoreline

Gemma Lessinger

The Roseland Peninsula is a stunning corner of Cornwall. With the River Fal separating it from the rest of Cornwall it really does feel like another world. Calm, crystal clear waters, there were no powerful waves the day I did this research trip, just the turquoise waters blending into the smooth sand on shore.

I have focused on the rocky shoreline in this piece – building lots of depth and texture.  One of my favourite parts of this is the rocks just below the surface – deep shades of teal just below the water level.

Watercolour & acrylic paint on canvas.
